Today in Western Civ we finished up the powerpoint on the renaissance and Luther reformation
- Luther believes that from his 95 theses that
1. People win salvation by faith in gods gift pf forgiveness
2. All church teaching should be clearly based of the words of the Bible.
3. All people w faith are equal. People do not need priests to interpret the Bible for them

Pope Leo X issues a degree treating Luther
Luther throws the popes decree into a bonfire - excommunicates Luther
Charles V wants Luther to recant
Charles orders Luther to be put on trial in Diet of Worms
Luther is declared to be an outlaw and heretic- "escapes"  ordered to be arrested on sight
crime for everyone who gives Luther food and shelter
writings are to be banned and burned
